What Comes Next in the Alphabet for PreK: 24 question slides with a type-in answer box, plus an answer key slide.
What’s inside this download
- 24 question slides, one question per slide
- A type-in answer box on every question
- A title slide and an answer key slide at the end
- One .pptx file — opens in Google Slides and PowerPoint
Why choose this over a free activity
- Short three-letter runs fit a preschooler's attention
- Blank sits at the end, so the child follows the song's natural direction
- Uppercase letters match what's on most wall charts
- No printing — works on a laptop, tablet or classroom screen
License and file format
- One .pptx file; upload it to Google Drive to open it in Google Slides
- One teacher or one household. Use it with your own students, this year and next
- Sharing the file itself needs a separate license
- Digital download — nothing ships
How do I get the files?
- The download link is on the order page the moment you pay, and in your inbox at the same time
- Re-download from that link any time — no account needed
- Wrong or broken file? Email support@pencillane.com and we fix it or refund you
Why get the bundle
- Order sticks after many tiny looks. Flash cards, games and bingo give you new ways to revisit the same short runs without repeating the same page.
The problem
A, B, ... and then the pause where the next letter should be
A preschooler may sing the whole alphabet yet freeze when you stop at 'A B' and ask what comes next. The song carries the order; the child isn't looking at it.
The pause that tells you
Stop mid-song and many three- and four-year-olds restart from A. They know the song as one long sound, not separate letters.
'Elemenopee' blur
L-M-N-O-P runs together in the song. A child who hears it as one word can't pull out N or P on their own.
Short attention spans
Twenty-six letters at once is a lot. Three-letter chunks like A B __ give a small win that fits a preschool sitting.
Each prompt shows two or three letters in order and leaves one blank. Children fill in what comes next, slowly turning the song into letters they can point at.
What’s inside
24 questions, one per slide.
Students type straight into the box — no printing, no cutting.

Early learners
Good for children who sing the alphabet but don't yet point to letters in order.

Questions
Before you buy.
My child is only three. Is this too early?
If they enjoy the alphabet song and know some letters, short runs like A B __ are a gentle try. Stop whenever it stops being fun.
Does it teach letter names or sounds?
It practices letter names and their order. Sounds are separate skills in the first-letter-sounds and beginning-sounds products.
How do I get the file?
The download link appears right after checkout and lands in your inbox at the same time. One PowerPoint file you can open in Google Slides.
Can I share it with my class?
Yes — one teacher can use it with their own students, this year and next. Sharing the file with other teachers needs a separate license.
Do I need Google Slides?
No. The file is a PowerPoint (.pptx). It opens in PowerPoint, and in Google Slides once you upload it to Google Drive.
