Why get the bundle
- A bundle gives repeated practice joining sentences in cards, tasks and assessments, so the habit shows up in revision.
The problem
Two short sentences that should have been one
Young writers repeat 'I have... I have...' and don't know how to join. A small joining word could change their writing.
Choppy sentences
'I have a red bike. I have a blue scooter.' is correct but flat. Children don't yet hear how 'and' joins ideas.
Which joining word?
'And,' 'but' and 'so' do different jobs. Kids pick whichever they know best, even when it changes the meaning.
Repeating the subject
When two sentences share a subject, kids copy it twice instead of dropping it, which is a step toward joining.
Pairs of short sentences come with a choice of joining words. The child decides which one links the ideas best and reads the result.

Who it’s for
Built for the kitchen table and the classroom.
Parents & homeschool
Say both sentences, then try 'and.' Ask whether it sounds right. This builds an ear for sentence flow.
Teachers
A 2nd-3rd grade writing-craft center that leads naturally to revising a child's own paragraph.
Developing writers
Children who write only short sentences get a clear, low-risk first step toward longer ones.

Questions
Before you buy.
Does this teach commas with conjunctions?
The focus is on choosing the joining word. Punctuation inside compound sentences is a later step.
How is this different from 'conjunctions'?
This topic starts with two complete sentences and joins them. The conjunctions topic fills one blank in a sentence.
How do I get the file?
The download link appears right after checkout and lands in your inbox at the same time. One PDF with 10 pages. No account needed.
Can I print it more than once?
Yes. One teacher or one household can print unlimited copies for their own students, this year and next.
Will it print in color?
The pages are designed to print in black and white, so they print clean on any home or school printer and do not eat a cartridge.
