Why get the bundle
- Words, pictures and games all give a different angle on comparing, which is how children become comfortable talking about quantity.
The problem
Which row has more?
Young children often judge by how spread out or tall something is. Learning more than, less than and the same needs number meaning.
Spread-out looks like more
A wide row of 4 looks bigger than a tight row of 5. Children need to match counts, not just look.
The same as is hardest
Most children get more and less. When two numbers are equal, they often still choose one because they expect a winner.
Words are new
More than, less than and the same as are the vocabulary children need to talk about numbers. They need to hear and say them.
Each question uses the words more than, less than and the same as, with numbers up to 10. Children say the number sentence out loud, building vocabulary and meaning together.
What’s inside

Students type straight into the box — no printing, no cutting.

Who it’s for
Built for the kitchen table and the classroom.
Parents & homeschool
Use two small piles of blocks. Line them up one to one, and ask which has extras. Say the whole sentence together.
Teachers
Use at the start of a comparing unit, before the greater-than and less-than symbols appear.
Pre-K & early learners
Children who are still learning number words get a gentle, concrete way to compare.

Questions
Before you buy.
Does this use the symbols?
No. It uses the words more than, less than and the same as. The symbols come later in our Comparing Numbers sets.
Why numbers up to 10?
They fit on ten frames and fingers, which lets children check by lining up objects.
How do I get the file?
The download link appears right after checkout and lands in your inbox at the same time. One PowerPoint file you can open in Google Slides.
Can I share it with my class?
Yes — one teacher can use it with their own students, this year and next. Sharing the file with other teachers needs a separate license.
Do I need Google Slides?
No. The file is a PowerPoint (.pptx). It opens in PowerPoint, and in Google Slides once you upload it to Google Drive.
