Why get the bundle
- Short e is often the vowel that slips. The bundle adds more formats, plus an assessment page, so you can check that e stays separate from i.
The problem
Bed, beg, bet: e sounds like i to a lot of ears
Short e is quiet and easy to confuse. Many kids hear 'pen' as 'pin', and some regional accents blur them even more.
E and i sound alike
In many dialects pen and pin sound the same. Children must listen and look at the letter, not rely on how it sounds.
Letter name takes over
Children say 'ee' when they see e. The short e sound is /eh/, as in bed.
Mouth too wide or too small
Children often over-open the mouth and say short a, turning bed into bad. A relaxed, small smile makes /eh/.
Only short e words appear, like bed, beg and bet. Children get a clear model of the /eh/ sound and many repeats of it.

Who it’s for
Built for the kitchen table and the classroom.
Parents & homeschool
Say 'eh, eh, bed' with your child. Exaggerating the mouth shape helps hear the difference from short i.
Teachers
Use in small groups for children who mix short e and i, or as part of a vowel-by-vowel sequence.
RTI & intervention
Targets e and i, a common mix-up, with focused practice on one vowel.

Questions
Before you buy.
Why does my child say 'bid' for bed?
Short e and i are close. Have them watch your mouth: e is a bit more open. Reading words in a list helps the ear sort them.
Should we practice e and i together?
Not at first. Get e solid on its own, then use the mixed CVC pages to compare.
How do I get the file?
The download link appears right after checkout and lands in your inbox at the same time. One PowerPoint file you can open in Google Slides.
Can I share it with my class?
Yes — one teacher can use it with their own students, this year and next. Sharing the file with other teachers needs a separate license.
Do I need Google Slides?
No. The file is a PowerPoint (.pptx). It opens in PowerPoint, and in Google Slides once you upload it to Google Drive.
