The problem
Shine, smash, bush: s plus h isn't /s/ then /h/
Sh is a hush. Children who read s and h separately say 'suh-hine', and some mix sh with ch or s.
S then h
Reading each letter gives /s/ /h/. The two letters work together to make one sound.
Sh or ch
Ship and chip, shop and chop. Children swap them because the mouth shapes are close.
Front and back
Sh can appear at the start, like shine, or at the end, like smash and bush.
Only sh words are included, with the digraph at the front or the end, such as shine, smash and bush.
What’s inside
30 questions, one per slide.
Students type straight into the box — no printing, no cutting.
SH Digraph Words

Title to answer key
A title slide first, the answer key last.
Google Slides & PowerPoint

Look inside
One question per slide, with a box to type the answer.

Questions
Before you buy.
Is sh always /sh/?
In these words, yes. It's one of the most reliable digraphs.
Does sh ever appear in the middle?
Sometimes, as in 'fishing'. The page keeps to the beginning and end for early practice.
