The problem
Which, whisk, whale: where did the h go?
Wh is a quiet digraph. For most speakers it sounds just like w, so children don't hear the h at all.
Silent h
In most accents, 'which' and 'witch' sound the same. The h is there on the page but not in speech.
W or wh spelling
Children write 'wich' or 'wale' because they hear only w. Wh is a spelling to learn.
Question words
Many wh words are who, what, when, where. Children meet them as sight words before they see the pattern.
Only wh words are included, such as which, whisk and whale. Children see the pattern again and again and learn to spell it with an h.

Questions
Before you buy.
Is wh pronounced differently from w?
For most speakers, no. A few say a puff of air first. Either way, the spelling is wh.
Why do so many question words start with wh?
It's a spelling pattern in English. Children learn it by seeing it often.

Can I print it more than once?

Will it print in color?
The pages are designed to print in black and white, so they print clean on any home or school printer and do not eat a cartridge.
