- 30 question slides, one question per slide
- A type-in answer box on every question
- A title slide and an answer key slide at the end
- One .pptx file — opens in Google Slides and PowerPoint
Why choose this over a free activity

- No printing — works on a laptop, tablet or classroom screen
License and file format

- One teacher or one household. Use it with your own students, this year and next
- Sharing the file itself needs a separate license

Why get the bundle
- Elapsed time takes more than one route. Cards, games and checks give children varied hops across the hour.
The problem
6:45 to 8:15 is 1 hour 30 minutes
Elapsed time is not ordinary subtraction, because 60 minutes make an hour. Crossing the hour is where children go wrong.
Subtracting like regular numbers
8:15 - 6:45 as plain numbers gives 1:70. Children need to count up in hours and minutes.
Crossing the hour
6:45 to 7:00 is 15 minutes, then 1 hour 15 more. Splitting at the hour is the key step.
Hours and minutes in the answer
1 h 30 min and 130 min look alike. Children give the wrong unit or forget one.
Each question gives start and end times, with answer choices in hours and minutes. Children jump to the next hour, then add what is left.
What’s inside
30 questions, one per slide.
Students type straight into the box — no printing, no cutting.
