- Seeing the same question in games, cards and checks helps children read the word least before choosing.
The problem
Least of 14, 7 and 2 is not 14
Kindergartners tend to circle the biggest number or the first one listed. With teens in the mix, the first number looks important.
Picking the first number
The first number listed gets circled whatever the question asks.
Two digits looks big
14 has two digits, so it stands out. For least, that is the one to rule out.
Stopping after two
14 and 7 compare quickly, and a child stops at 7 without checking 2.
Each question shows three numbers within 20, mixing teens and single digits. Children compare two, keep the smaller and check the third.
What’s inside
30 questions, one per slide.
Students type straight into the box — no printing, no cutting.
Which is Least: Numbers to 20
Written for Kindergarten.
Title to answer key
A title slide first, the answer key last.
Google Slides & PowerPoint
One .pptx file that opens in both.
Look inside
One question per slide, with a box to type the answer.
