The problem
Big G is easy; where is the little g with the tail?
Most preschoolers meet capitals first, so capitals are the strong side. The challenge is finding lowercase shapes, some of which look very different.
Capitals that change shape
G, R, Q, A and E have lowercase forms that look different. g and q even have tails.
b, d, p, q
Lowercase b, d, p, q are mirrored and flipped versions of the same shape. Children mix them often.
Choosing from a row
Picking the match from choices means scanning shapes, a stretch for young eyes.
Each page gives a capital and asks for the matching lowercase. Pairs follow alphabet order, so children use what they already know to reach what they don't.

Early learners
Great for children who know capitals and are ready to meet the lowercase shapes.

Questions
Before you buy.
Why start with capitals?
Children usually know capitals first, so they have a strong anchor. Matching to lowercase builds on what they know.
Should we do this before lowercase to uppercase?
Either order works. If your child knows capitals better, start here. If lowercase is stronger, try the other direction.
How do I get the file?
The download link appears right after checkout and lands in your inbox at the same time. One PDF with 6 pages. No account needed.
Can I print it more than once?
Yes. One teacher or one household can print unlimited copies for their own students, this year and next.
Will it print in color?
The pages are designed to print in black and white, so they print clean on any home or school printer and do not eat a cartridge.
