Why get the bundle
- One Less is stronger beside One More. The bundle puts both together, so children learn to move up and down the number line.
The problem
One less than 6? They say 7
Counting forward comes naturally. Stepping back one is new, and young children answer with the next number instead.
Saying one more
Asked for one less than 6, a child says 7, the number after. One less means a step back.
One less than one
One less than 1 is 0. Children who think numbers start at 1 are stuck with nothing to say.
Starting from the beginning
To find one less than 12, a child counts from 1 and stops just before 12. Starting at 12 and stepping back is the skill.
Each card gives a number and asks for one less. Children say the number, step back one, and name the number they land on.
What’s inside

Questions
Before you buy.
Does it include zero?
Yes. One less than 1 is zero, so children meet it early.
Is there a matching set?
Yes. One More is the partner set, so children practice both directions.
How do I get the file?
The download link appears right after checkout and lands in your inbox at the same time. One PowerPoint file you can open in Google Slides.
Can I share it with my class?
Yes — one teacher can use it with their own students, this year and next. Sharing the file with other teachers needs a separate license.
Do I need Google Slides?
No. The file is a PowerPoint (.pptx). It opens in PowerPoint, and in Google Slides once you upload it to Google Drive.
