Why get the bundle
- One More works best next to One Less. A bundle puts both directions together, so children practice moving up and down.
The problem
Asked for one more than 5, they say 5
One more sounds simple, but young children repeat the number they were given or have to count up from 1 to find the next.
Repeating the number
Hearing 'one more than 5', a child says 5 or 'five more'. The phrase has to be linked to the next number.
Starting from one every time
To find one more than 12, many children count from 1. Starting at 12 and going on one step is the skill.
Zero comes first
One more than 0 is 1. Children who think counting begins at 1 do not know what to do with zero.
Each card gives a number and asks for one more. Children say the number, then say the one that comes next, instead of recounting from the beginning.
What’s inside

Questions
Before you buy.
Does it include zero?
Yes, it begins at zero, so children see one more than nothing is one.
Is there a matching set for one less?
Yes. One Less pairs with this set, so children practice both directions.
How do I get the file?
The download link appears right after checkout and lands in your inbox at the same time. One PowerPoint file you can open in Google Slides.
Can I share it with my class?
Yes — one teacher can use it with their own students, this year and next. Sharing the file with other teachers needs a separate license.
Do I need Google Slides?
No. The file is a PowerPoint (.pptx). It opens in PowerPoint, and in Google Slides once you upload it to Google Drive.
What if it isn’t right for us?
