Why get the bundle
- Rhyme is best learned by hearing it in many ways. The bundle gives cards and games so children can listen for rhymes in more than one format.
The problem
Cash and rash: do they rhyme? A preschooler isn't always sure
Rhyme is a listening skill. Children often judge by meaning or the first sound, not by the endings that rhyme.
First sounds get in the way
Cash and kit both start with a hard c or k. A child may say they rhyme because the beginnings sound alike.
Silly words
Some rhymes aren't real words, like 'zash'. Children who think only about meaning can reject a rhyme.
Two words in memory
The child hears two words and compares their endings. That's a lot to hold in a young mind.
Each prompt gives two words and asks if they rhyme. Pairs mix true rhymes with near-misses, so children listen to the endings, not the first sounds.

Speech & language
Useful for children building the ear for sound patterns before they read.

Questions
Before you buy.
Why start with yes or no?
It's easier to judge a rhyme than to make one. Yes or no lets children listen and decide without coming up with words.
Is it just for preschool?
It's aimed at pre-K, but kindergartners who struggle with rhyme can use it too.
How do I get the file?
The download link appears right after checkout and lands in your inbox at the same time. One PowerPoint file you can open in Google Slides.
Can I share it with my class?
Yes — one teacher can use it with their own students, this year and next. Sharing the file with other teachers needs a separate license.
Do I need Google Slides?
No. The file is a PowerPoint (.pptx). It opens in PowerPoint, and in Google Slides once you upload it to Google Drive.
