Why get the bundle
- Rounding is learned through repeats. Bingo, color-by-code and cards give many problems that look different but use the same rule.
The problem
149 rounds up to 150, not down to 140
Rounding is a rule children follow without seeing why. When the number crosses a hundred, the rule feels wrong.
Looking at the wrong digit
In 182, a child looks at the 8 instead of the 2 in the ones place and rounds up to 190.
What happens at 5
75 sits exactly between 70 and 80. The rule says round up, and children often forget it.
Crossing the hundred
149 rounds to 150. Children expect the hundreds digit to stay and write 140.
Each question gives a number and asks for the nearest ten. Children check the ones digit and picture the number on a line between two tens.
