Why get the bundle
- Looking closely is learned by seeing letters in many contexts. Cards and games give children more chances to compare shapes without repeating the same page.
The problem
a and o look almost alike: same or different?
Telling letters apart is the first step to reading them. Some letters are close in shape, and preschoolers haven't yet learned which details matter.
Round letters
a and o, c and e, and n and h are close in shape. Children must notice the small difference.
Flipped letters
b, d, p, q use the same shape in a different direction. Young eyes often treat them as the same.
Scanning two things
The child compares two letters. That means looking at one, holding it, and looking at the other.
Each prompt shows two letters side by side and asks if they match. Some pairs are the same, some look alike, so children must look closely.

Questions
Before you buy.
Do children need to know letter names?
No. They only look and compare. It's a visual skill that helps later with names and sounds.
Is it hard?
Pairs with the same letter are easy. Look-alike pairs, like a and o, are harder, so there's a gentle climb.
How do I get the file?
The download link appears right after checkout and lands in your inbox at the same time. One PowerPoint file you can open in Google Slides.
Can I share it with my class?
Yes — one teacher can use it with their own students, this year and next. Sharing the file with other teachers needs a separate license.
Do I need Google Slides?
No. The file is a PowerPoint (.pptx). It opens in PowerPoint, and in Google Slides once you upload it to Google Drive.
