Why get the bundle
- The bundle presents sentence completion in several card formats and an assessment, which helps children read for meaning each time.
The problem
'The bird ____ in the sky,' and a word that doesn't fit
Children can name verbs but struggle to pick one that matches the subject and the sentence. Meaning and grammar both matter.
Sense doesn't match
'The bird read in the sky' is grammatical but silly. Children need to think about what makes sense.
Wrong verb form
'The fish swim in water' versus 'swims.' First and second graders pick a verb that fits the idea but not the form.
Many words look possible
With four options, kids grab the first verb they know. They need a habit of reading the full sentence each time.
Each sentence has a blank and several verbs. The child tests each one in the sentence and chooses the one that fits both the meaning and the grammar.
What’s inside
30 questions, one per slide.
Students type straight into the box — no printing, no cutting.

Questions
Before you buy.
Are the blanks always verbs?
The sample items are verbs, like flew, swims and brush, chosen to match the subject.
Does it check verb agreement?
Some items need the form to match, like 'swims' for 'the fish.' A full agreement topic is covered separately.

Can I share it with my class?
