Why get the bundle
- Shape names become solid when children see them in many pictures. Other shape sets in a bundle add rectangles and 3D shapes.
The problem
A triangle that points down is still a triangle
Preschoolers learn shapes from the picture they first see. A turned triangle or a tilted square can stop them.
Only the usual position
A triangle with a point at the top is a triangle. Turned upside down, some children call it something else.
Similar shapes
A circle and an oval look alike. A square and a rectangle share corners. Names have to match the features.
Words come before the idea
Children can say 'circle' without knowing why. Naming first, then talking about sides, builds understanding.
Each card shows a name and three shapes, and children pick the one that matches. The names are circle, square and triangle.
