Why get the bundle
- Sight words need many repeats in different forms. Cards, games, bingo and an assessment help you see which words are secure.
The problem
'Come', 'to' and 'and': the little words that won't sound out
Pre-primer sight words are the first words children meet again and again. Many don't follow phonics rules, so they must be learned by sight.
Words that break the rules
'Come' and 'to' don't sound as they spell. Children who try to sound them out get stuck.
Look-alike little words
'Is' and 'in', 'we' and 'me', 'big' and 'dig'. Beginners mix them by shape.
Guessing from the picture
Children use pictures and the first letter to guess. Sight word practice builds memory for the whole word.
Each page shows one pre-primer word, so children see it again and again. Short, frequent repeats help the whole word stick.

Questions
Before you buy.
What are Dolch sight words?
A list of common words in early reading. The pre-primer list is the first and has the simplest words.
Should we sound them out?
Some, like 'it' and 'can', yes. Others, like 'to' and 'come', need to be learned by sight.
How do I get the file?
The download link appears right after checkout and lands in your inbox at the same time. One PowerPoint file you can open in Google Slides.
Can I share it with my class?
Yes — one teacher can use it with their own students, this year and next. Sharing the file with other teachers needs a separate license.
Do I need Google Slides?
No. The file is a PowerPoint (.pptx). It opens in PowerPoint, and in Google Slides once you upload it to Google Drive.
