Why get the bundle
- Once counting dots is easy, children can move on to make-ten and number bonds. The bundle gathers those steps.
The problem
Counting the empty boxes too
A ten frame has two rows of five. Preschoolers count what they see, so empty squares and full rows both need explaining.
Counting empty squares
A frame with 4 dots has 6 empty squares. Some children count all ten boxes and say ten.
Tapping every dot
A full top row is five, but a child taps one at a time. Learning to see a row as five is the goal.
Same number, different spots
Four dots can sit in different boxes. Children who learn a picture, not a number, get stuck.
Each card shows dots on a ten frame from 1 to 10. Children count the dots, say the number, and start to see the full row of five at a glance.
