Three-Digit Addition with Regrouping for 2nd to 3rd grade: 30 question slides with a type-in answer box, plus an answer key slide.
What’s inside this download
- 30 question slides, one question per slide
- A type-in answer box on every question
- A title slide and an answer key slide at the end
- One .pptx file — opens in Google Slides and PowerPoint
Why choose this over a free activity
- Wrong choices match real carrying slips
- Includes zeros in the middle
- Keys give each total, so a skipped carry that is off by 10 or 100 stands out
- No printing — works on a laptop, tablet or classroom screen
License and file format
- One .pptx file; upload it to Google Drive to open it in Google Slides
- One teacher or one household. Use it with your own students, this year and next
- Sharing the file itself needs a separate license
- Digital download — nothing ships
How do I get the files?
- The download link is on the order page the moment you pay, and in your inbox at the same time
- Re-download from that link any time — no account needed
- Wrong or broken file? Email support@pencillane.com and we fix it or refund you
Why get the bundle
- Carrying takes repetition. Cards, games and color-by-code give children many three-digit sums, each checking the same careful steps.
The problem
439 + 503 is 942, not 842
Three-digit sums can carry twice. A missed carry changes the answer by 10 or 100, so the answer looks reasonable and is wrong.
Forgetting the carry
In 439 + 503 the tens add to 3 + 0, plus nothing, but the ones carry. A skipped carry lands on 932 or 842.
Carrying into the wrong column
In 117 + 195, 7 + 5 is 12. The 1 ten goes above the tens column, not beside the ones digit.
Zeros in the middle
313 + 107 has zeros that tempt children to skip a column. Each column still needs adding.
Wrong choices are the real mistakes: a missing carry, a carry in the wrong place. Children add ones, tens, then hundreds, and use an estimate to check.

Who it’s for
Built for the kitchen table and the classroom.
Parents & homeschool
Use base-ten blocks. Trade ten ones for a ten and ten tens for a hundred, so the carry makes sense.
Teachers
Fits second and third grade. Use the check pages after a unit to see who still drops a carry.
Intervention
Students who can add two-digit numbers but lose track on three digits get a clear next step.

Questions
Before you buy.
Do all the problems regroup?
Some do and some do not, so children must look at each column instead of always carrying.
How can my child check an answer?
Round both numbers to the nearest hundred and add. The answer should be close to that estimate.
How do I get the file?
The download link appears right after checkout and lands in your inbox at the same time. One PowerPoint file you can open in Google Slides.
Can I share it with my class?
Yes — one teacher can use it with their own students, this year and next. Sharing the file with other teachers needs a separate license.
Do I need Google Slides?
No. The file is a PowerPoint (.pptx). It opens in PowerPoint, and in Google Slides once you upload it to Google Drive.
What if it isn’t right for us?
