Three-Digit Subtraction with Regrouping for 3rd grade: 30 question slides with a type-in answer box, plus an answer key slide.

- 30 question slides, one question per slide
- A type-in answer box on every question
- A title slide and an answer key slide at the end

- Re-download from that link any time — no account needed
- Wrong or broken file? Email support@pencillane.com and we fix it or refund you
Why get the bundle
- Cards, games and color-by-code give children many chances to borrow carefully.
The problem
800 - 378 and the zeros will not let you borrow
Subtracting across a zero is the hardest regrouping children meet. The smaller-from-larger shortcut also gives wrong answers.
Subtracting the smaller from the larger
In 660 - 257 a child does 7 - 0 for the ones and ends at 417. The top digit stays on top, so a borrow is needed.
Borrowing across zero
800 has no tens to give. The hundreds break into tens first, then a ten into ones. Many children stop halfway.
Forgetting to reduce
After borrowing, the digit you borrowed from goes down by one. Leaving it as is makes the answer ten or a hundred too high.
The answer choices include these real mistakes, such as 417 and 522. Children check each column, borrow when needed, and add back to check.
What’s inside

How do I get the file?
The download link appears right after checkout and lands in your inbox at the same time. One PowerPoint file you can open in Google Slides.
Can I share it with my class?
Yes — one teacher can use it with their own students, this year and next. Sharing the file with other teachers needs a separate license.
