Why get the bundle
- Worksheets, cards, games and a deck let children try the same idea in a few ways.
The problem
48 + 1: only the ones digit changes
Adding a one-digit number to a two-digit number should be easy, yet children often start over from the beginning or change the tens.
Counting from the start
For 11 + 2, a child counts 1, 2, 3 up to 11 and then on. Starting at 11 and counting two more is the skill.
Changing the tens digit
In 48 + 1 the answer is 49. Some children write 59 because they add to the wrong place.
Not seeing ones and tens
60 + 3 is 63. Children who do not read 60 as six tens do not see why the 6 stays.
These problems add a one-digit number to a two-digit number with no regrouping. Children see that only the ones change, which prepares them for column addition.

Questions
Before you buy.

No. That comes in the regrouping sets.
Is there a digital deck?
Yes. Each problem is one-digit added to two-digit, such as 48 + 1 or 60 + 3.
How do I get the file?
The download link appears right after checkout and lands in your inbox at the same time. One PowerPoint file you can open in Google Slides.
Can I share it with my class?
