Two-Digit Addition with Regrouping for 2nd grade: 30 question slides with a type-in answer box, plus an answer key slide.
What’s inside this download
- 30 question slides, one question per slide
- A type-in answer box on every question
- A title slide and an answer key slide at the end
- One .pptx file — opens in Google Slides and PowerPoint
Why choose this over a free activity
- Wrong choices show missed carries
- Ones, tens, carry
- Keys give each sum, so a missing carry like 72 for 57 + 25 shows up
- No printing — works on a laptop, tablet or classroom screen
License and file format
- One .pptx file; upload it to Google Drive to open it in Google Slides
- One teacher or one household. Use it with your own students, this year and next
- Sharing the file itself needs a separate license
- Digital download — nothing ships
How do I get the files?
- The download link is on the order page the moment you pay, and in your inbox at the same time
- Re-download from that link any time — no account needed
- Wrong or broken file? Email support@pencillane.com and we fix it or refund you
Why get the bundle
- Cards, games and color-by-code give children a lot of chances to carry correctly.
The problem
57 + 25 is 82, not 72 or 712
Carrying is the first step of column addition where the tens digit changes. Children either leave out the carry or write both digits of the ones sum.
Forgetting the carry
7 + 5 = 12. A child writes 2 and forgets the 1 ten, so 57 + 25 becomes 72.
Writing 12 in the ones place
Some write 12 under the ones column, giving 712. The ones column holds one digit.
Skipping a tens digit
After carrying, a child adds the 1 to the first tens digit and forgets the second. Every column needs all of its digits.
The answer choices include the missing carry and the double-digit slip. Children add ones, trade ten ones for a ten, then add tens.
What’s inside

Questions
Before you buy.
Do all the problems regroup?
Most do. Some do not, so children must check.
How can children check?
Estimate by rounding to tens and compare, or add in the other order.
How do I get the file?
The download link appears right after checkout and lands in your inbox at the same time. One PowerPoint file you can open in Google Slides.
Can I share it with my class?
Yes — one teacher can use it with their own students, this year and next. Sharing the file with other teachers needs a separate license.
Do I need Google Slides?
No. The file is a PowerPoint (.pptx). It opens in PowerPoint, and in Google Slides once you upload it to Google Drive.
