Why get the bundle
- -ap lasts when it's repeated in different ways. The bundle adds cards, games and an assessment to confirm it.
The problem
Cap, gap, lap: the final p slips into b when children read fast
-ap ends in a puffed p. Children mix it with b, which makes 'cap' look like 'cab'.
p or b?
The two letters look like flipped versions of each other. 'Cap' and 'cab' are both real words.
Gap, lap, map
The starting letters g, l and m change the meaning but sound very different. Children can pick the wrong one.
The puff of air
Final /p/ is a soft puff. Children may not hear it and drop it.
All words end in -ap, such as cap, gap and lap. With the ending fixed, children can focus on the first sound and the final p.

Before you buy.
My child reads 'cap' as 'cab'. What should I do?
Say both words and feel the sounds. P is a puff of air and b is voiced. Looking at the shape helps too.
Is it okay to practice -ap alone?
Yes. Each family stands alone, so you can pick the one your child needs.

The download link appears right after checkout and lands in your inbox at the same time. One PDF with 12 pages. No account needed.
Can I print it more than once?

Will it print in color?
