Why get the bundle

The problem
Cop, hop, lop: add an e and 'hop' becomes 'hope'
-op has a clean short o and a puffed p. Children who know silent e may read 'hop' as 'hope', or the other way round.
Hop vs. hope
Without an e, the o is short. Beginners who have learned silent e may add a long o.
p and b
Cop and cob, hop and hob. A puffed p can sound like b to children who can't yet hear the difference.
Short o variation
In some accents short o is closer to 'ah'. Children may read cop with a different vowel.
